The mandala depicts an imaginary three-dimensional divine mansion/palace with five levels, and a lotus flower at the center symbolizing Buddha's awakening and enlightenment.
A symbolic representation of the universe, and an instrument that supports visual meditation to penetrate the mandala, and begin the journey toward enlightenment
