Mandalas are considered an integral part of Tantric Buddhism for their colorful complexity, the sacred structure with a profound symbolic value. This is a Chakrasamvara Mandala  (Khor Lo Dem Chog or Wheel of Bliss) created by a traditional artist from Nepal. The mandala is painted on a handmade canvas paper with natural mineral colors.

At the center is a multi-armed figure of Heruka Saṃvara, one of the forms of wrathful deity in Tibetan Buddhism. The mandala depicts the residence of 62 deities who incorporates the esoteric knowledge of the Yoga Tantras. The deities who inhabit the mandala are not external gods, but a symbol of an enlightened state of mind
